Carrier Command 2 comes out on April 1st 20221 (I hope it’s not a joke). There’s not been that many games using the carrier idea (there’s been a few that has been inspired by Carrier Command), so it’s nice to see this classic being revived. Using units like drones, you can gain intel on the enemy to make the right decisions. Units have counter units and know what and where the enemy is sending them is crucial to your angle of approach. Carrier Command is a vehicle simulation and a real-time strategy game developed by Realtime Games in 1988 for the Atari ST. There’s also a bit of a cat and mouse strategic dance too between the different sides. What makes Carrier Command (and this sequel) a bit unique is the fact you can hop into any of the units you launch, if you get bored with being the commander on the carrier, far away from the action.
